Residential energy storage systems are a priority to promote local flexibility and participation in the energy transition. The combination of solar energy generators and storage batteries is a key method of achieving self sufficiency in residential buildings, thereby increasing individual household independence. A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model formulated in AMPL and solved with CPLEX optimizes battery dimensions and operation, thereby improving performance and extending lifespan.
